Karina Khaledi
Founder and Software Developer
Karina is a second year at Northeastern University.
Karina is studying Computer Science and Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and FinTech. In College she has immersed herself in many clubs and has stayed active with community service.
She discovered her love for coding after enrolling in a Java coding course freshman year. Given the limited computer science opportunities at her high school, Karina sought out to expand her grasp on programming. After being accepted to Columbia’s Science Honors Program as a sophomore, Karina began to dive deeper into the world of informatics. She took it upon herself to learn R, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Java, and Python to explore her newfound interest. Karina is dedicated to promoting equitable technological education for women. She seeks to promote women’s advancement and believes that, together, we can bridge the gender gap in STEM. Code knows no gender, and she is committed to coding a better, brighter, and more inclusive word.
In addition to Girls With Wisdom, Karina serves as founder and president of her school’s Baymen Club, a club that promotes cultural awareness and fosters inclusivity. She also co-founded her school’s Environmental Club, where she successfully integrated biodegradable products into the school community. Outside of school, Karina researches pancreatic cancer, where she applies code to help with earlier detection of the disease.
At her core, Karina hopes to foster mentorship, collaboration, and an uplifting environment through Girls With Wisdom, so all girls can be confident in pursuing their interests in STEM.
